Autumn course finishes

The full time course which started in October 2011 in UCD finished last week. The final practical exams ran all week and the ending of the course will be celebrated by all this week. One of students expressed her appreciation of the course on the last day and we would like to thank Hannah and wish all the students well in their new careers.

"Just wanted to write to say a HUGE thank you to you all for making the NCEF course so enjoyable! I have to say I enjoyed every second of it and found every single one of you really excellent tutors. I learnt so much more than I thought possible and at the beginning of the course I never thought I'd remember everything but somehow I seem to have all this new knowledge and feel so much more confident!"

"So thank you all so much and will hopefully see you again later on in the year - if I pass through UCD I will certainly pop in to say hello! I will definitely recommend the course to anyone, it's tough at times but all made much easier with great support from you guys!" - Hannah Nolan

Official Announcement
Wednesday, 2nd March 2011

The National Council for Exercise and Fitness (NCEF), in association with the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (PESS) of the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences (EHS) at the University of Limerick (UL) are delighted to announce the successful submission of the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Exercise & Health Fitness through the rigorous UL academic approval process. The programme will be offered in collaboration with the Kemmy Business School, UL. This B.Sc. programme (NFQ Level 8, EQF Level 6) will provide an extension to the existing Certificate in Exercise & Health Fitness (CEHF [NFQ Level 6, EQF Level 5 ]) and Diploma in Exercise Health Fitness (DEHF [NFQ Level 7, EQF Level 6 ]).

This is a significant development for those who wish to pursue a career in Exercise & Health Fitness as it extends a unique pathway from certificate level through diploma to degree level on a stage by stage basis. Previously qualified UL/NCEF graduates and those with equivalent qualifications can now benefit from further study at Level 8 degree level and in doing so continue to maintain and enhance their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and optimize their employment opportunities.

Further information on the implementation of the B.Sc. will be available shortly at www.ncefinfo.com. The official launch of the programme will take place at the University of Limerick on 15th April 2011.
