Quotes from former graduates.
"I had just finished a degree in sports management in UCD and realized that I needed some practical experience if I was going to the jobs market. The CEHF offered the prospect of a practical professional qualification that opened up more career avenues. The course is great preparation for anybody thinking about working in the fitness industry. It gave me the confidence to teach groups as well as design fitness programmes for individuals". - James Nolan
James has been one of Ireland's leading athletes for the past 10 years. He won 2 European Silver medals and represented Ireland at 2 Olympic Games. He recently retired as a professional athlete and is making a career transition. He was on the recent course in Irish Life.
"Even though I had experience I wanted to learn everything in English. I had a lot of experience with weights but had never done step aerobics or exercise to music. Initially I was afraid of this but I enjoy it now very much. The tutors were very helpful to me and I am very happy with the course". - Florin Nicola
Florin moved to Ireland three years ago from Romania. He had worked in the fitness industry in Romania but found it difficult to get work here in that area. He eventually started working in security. He wanted to pursue a career in fitness and felt it important to retrain and gain a recognized qualification.
"The tutors at Motions are second to none! They were so helpful throughout the entire course, and went beyond the call of duty! The course content was very well prepared and enjoyable and covers so many different aspects of the Health and Fitness Industry. The facilities in Palmerstown were great and made going in on Saturday mornings each week fun and inviting!"
"Linda, the course coordinator was an absolute gem! She held our hands the whole way, and made sure we were all well prepared for the exams and we were. I would highly recommend the course in Motions, without hesitation!" - Lorraine Ho

"I started the course in October 2006 on the recommendation of a work colleague. It was a well organized, professional course but above all it was really friendly. I benefited greatly from the course. It has helped in my career as well. Even though I work full time I teach fitness classes in the evenings".
It was great that the course was linked to the University of Limerick. I was interested to progress and did a number of specialist modules in the years after I finished. I am about to graduate with a Diploma this year. I am currently doing the Diploma in Holistic Massage with Motions and I am enjoying it. As with the fitness course the tutors are great and very friendly and helpful". - Anthony O'Donoghue

"I decided to take a chance and change career and get into the fitness industry and doing this course proved to be the right decision. The tutors were helpful beyond even the class time for each of us. They put a huge effort into helping us get ready for the exams and I am grateful to them. The course has really prepared me for work in the fitness industry as it covers such a wide variety of subjects and gives you such confidence. I would highly recommend it as it is one of the best things I have ever done". - Miguel Gallagher
Miguel has worked in the retail sector for a number of years and saw the course as an opportunity to develop an alternative career. He has just completed the 2009 course in Palmerstown.
"I thoroughly enjoyed the course and think that I got much more benefit out of it than I initially expected. I had been competing in triathlons for three years and decided to do the course for my own personal development. I wanted to make sure that I was training sensibly and overall I wanted to prevent injury and ensure that I was getting the maximum benefit out of my training. Since doing the course I have dramatically improved my performances in races and have already exceeded my own goals for this summer's season and it's only just started!
I now enjoy training much more as I am confident that I am training intelligently. I have improved my diet and am much more aware of everyday risks which an unhealthy lifestyle presents. I can give advice to club mates, friends, and family safe in the knowledge that I really know what I'm talking about.
The best part about the Motions course is the fact that the tutors have vast experience in the fitness industry which is invaluable to the students. It's this knowledge combined with the affiliation with University of Limerick which gave me huge confidence in the course as a whole. I'd highly recommend the course". - Liz Lee
Liz is like an increasing number of people who take the course for personal benefit. She was a keen fitness enthusiast and wanted to learn more about her interest. She did the Irish Life course in 2007 and has now gone to Australia on a career break.
"I really enjoyed the course. It fully prepared me for working in the real world. I'm now working full time as a fitness instructor, teaching a variety of classes and doing personal training on the side.
This course taught me how to teach a class with confidence as well as dealing with people on an individual level when training them on a one to one basis.
The course tutors offered us invaluable advice, outside of the basic NCEF Level 1 curriculum, and they offered us their time when we needed it, even if it cut into their free time, and I can't express how invaluable their help has been in integrating into the fitness world!!" - Niamh O'Connor, Irish Life Course 2007
